We know the city is all about having fun and overdosing on culture, but a social life can take a toll on your body, take a toll on your daily routine. For those of us who are personable butterflies, it’s hard to turn down a great experience with friends but it’s easy to skip a day to take care of yourself. Maybe because the idea of butting physical strain on your body, for an end-goal that only comes to fruition in the long run seems too far to reach. Or maybe because we just can’t find the same social comfort in the confines of a gym. All that’s about to change and right in the heart of A+E.

Bred from the idea of creating a home away from home, Iron Addicts Gym has just opened their third location and first in Miami. Conveniently across the street from Filling Station Lofts and just a hop away from Vice City Bean for those post-workout empanadas, the gym will be the organ pumping energy throughout the neighborhood. When taking a tour of the gargantuan, yet surprisingly intimate fitness center, we had the chance to meet the team and chat with Angel Bajana, VP of Operations, who enlightened us with the gym’s M.O. “We want this to be a place where people can go, feel at home, be social, and also get in a good workout” said Bajana, who once worked for several of your mainstream gym chains and never felt that the gyms could make people feel at home.
The team behind Iron Addicts Gym wanted to create an environment where people can feel at home whether you’re new to fitness or an experienced athlete–and they’ve definitely achieved it. The space is open and welcoming, yet shining with experience and skill. Their fully operational gym downstairs is staggering upon entrance, black and white murals providing the perfect background to the spotless machinery on the floor. Their upstairs gym is flooded with light at all hours of the day, offering cardio classes, to rumba and everything in between.
